My New Goals

My story so far

I started out looking for the magic button in September 2009 to make money online without doing much work. I’m sure we have all been there & those of you that still are you need to stop NOW because there is no magic button.

I have spent a lot of money on various courses & ebooks in the past which are now sat on my hard drive. I have learnt a great deal from the courses & ebooks so not all is bad apart from the whole information overload some of us suffer from. My technical skills have also improved which will come in handy but if you aren’t technical don’t worry because you don’t need to be.

The answer to all my problems?

Well that’s what I thought when I came across YourNetBiz “the biz in a box”. This is the most I have spent on a opportunity to make a successful business online but to be honest I have not yet had any success with it. I’m not saying it doesn’t work as a lot of people are successful with it. However when I joined YourNetBiz I also became part of the NetBizMarketing team which has helped me get to where I am now. It consists of four team leaders based in the UK who are dedicated to helping you build your online business.

So where do you start when creating goals & what are mine?

I was taught by David Chamberlain at the event that you need to ask yourself where do you want to be in 12 months time then work your way back breaking it down into 3 month goals, monthly goals, weekly goals & finally daily goals.

You also need to put these goals into different categories:

Business
Personal
Entrepreneurial

So here are the goals I want to achieve in the next 12 months

Business

Have 10,000 subscribers. I will do this by Ad Swaps, Giveaway Events & as a JV for product launches.
Be earning a recurring monthly income of £10,000.
Attend at least five live events around the world.
Outsource a team to work on parts of my business I either don’t enjoy or the parts which take up a lot of time.
Build at least three of my own products.

Personal

Take at least two holidays – Hot climate but not sure where.
Have my own house.
Have free time to enjoy my hobbies – sort out my cars & build one for the race track, mountain biking & many others.
Spend Christmas & new year in Canada

Entrepreneurial

Build my knowledge & skills in every area of Internet Marketing

So there we have it. My goals may seem small to you or too big but from my experience they are realistic & achievable. I have also been told it’s best to set your goals high & just miss them rather than low & easily reach them.

Have you set your goals? Is does not matter if they are small or big but you need to set goals to succeed. How are you going to get to where you want to be if you don’t know where it is?

Why are Live Events Important & How It Changed Me?

Hey all,

Now your are probably wondering first of all what live event I attended? It was the LFMpire workshop in Bristol, UK held by Robert Puddy & Donna Fox.

The are a few of reasons why I attended this event.

1: Jani G & Jonny Andrews both said in January “make it your no. 1 priority for 2010 to attend as many live events as you can”. Two very cool guys I got to meet in person which is quite overwhelming considering how successful they are online.

2: I am on Robert Puddy’s list so I actually realised there are affordable events to attend close to home. “Always thought they cost thousands to attend & were outside the UK”

3: I am not the most self confident person so knew that it would boost my confidence.

4: I have been running round in circles chasing shiny objects online thinking there’s a magic button to make fast cash so wanted to learn where I have been going wrong.

So what was the outcome?

I learnt a great deal from all the speakers that were there such as Donna Fox, Robert Puddy, Omar Martin, Martin Avis, Simon Leung, Jonny Andrews, Ambar Hamid, Sterling Valentine & Jani G.

I also made friends with a lot of people who could possibly be my future business partners. Some are in the same situation as me & others are already making a full time income online. Guess what a lot of them have even offered to help me make my successful online business. Just for that one reason it was worth attending the event.

The speakers all have their own system in place to make a full time income online. Some aren’t even techie guys & Martin Avis works 2 hours a week just writing emails. So are you wondering who does the things they can’t? They outsource to the people that can.

I thought to make a successful online business you have to master all the different methods such as PPC, SEO, CPA, List Building, Traffic & so on.

How wrong was I? You need to concentrate on 3 things.

The first thing you must do is get a system in place to build your list of customers just like any offline business. I’m not going to tell you the moneys in the size of the list like everyone else because it’s the relationship with the list which is key.

So the second is building the relationship with your list which you can do by giving away free gifts that will help them with their online business. Also offer them support & interact with them as much as you can.

The third thing which is the main reason why most of you & me alike are doing this is money. Now I am trying to make a full time income not so I can go out & buy the most expensive cars, clothes, watches etc. It’s so I have the freedom to enjoy the things I like doing most in life like snowboarding to name a few. I love to get the adrenaline pumping.

So when we start to make money & build a list what next?

We can then master one of the methods I mentioned above & outsource the rest. Or you could just outsource all of it it’s entirely up to you but don’t make the mistake I did & think you have to master all the methods.

So to finish off my advice is to attend as many live events as you can as you never know who you are going to meet.

5 Steps Make Your Internet Business Successful

STEP 1: This is the most difficult step but it’s very important to find something you feel is a good business opportunity. There are hundreds of business ideas & opportunities on the internet to search for. If you carry out a search on any search engine with the keywords Work At Home, Business Opportunities, Home Based Business, Affiliate Programs, Make Money Online, etc., there will be 1000′s to choose from. A lot of internet marketers make money from affiliate programs & some say they are the best business opportunities out there because the only thing you need to do is promote your affiliate link. With a traditional business or product you must deal with storage, packing, shipping, complaints, returns, phone calls, emails, cheques & credit cards just to name a few! With affiliate programs, once someone has clicked on your affiliate link they are directed to the sales page where hopefully they will buy the product or program so you earn some commissions. This may sound very simple but you will need a lot of traffic or a big list which I will cover in another article. To learn more about the business opportunity I use check out my income streams

STEP 2: You should set up your own blog or website as it acts a shop window for you to either promote products you use or even better give away free advice to help others. It builds a relationship with your readers & in return they will respect your business & who you are. Think about it. Do you feel the same about buying from a shop on the high street as you do from an affiliate online? They’re both selling you a product but the salesman in the shop can answer any questions you may have about the product you are buying where as the affiliate can’t! If you are using your blog to promote affiliate programs you should write it as a review & try to focus on what is being offered & the benefits of the product. Make sure you don’t release too much in your review because people might think they know what it is all about & not click on your affiliate link. You should let the sales page do all the selling for you. They are professionally designed to increase the amount of people who buy or join so a short review to grab their attention is sufficient.

STEP 3: Try to write a post on your blog each day or a few each week. As people return to read your daily reviews, posts & tips they will start to see you as an expert on whatever your blog is about. They will develop confidence in what you have to say, they will begin to trust you which is a must in building that relationship. As a result some will check out your blog to see what you have to offer them & in general people buy more from those they know & trust. Google are one of many places online that will host and let you set up your blog for free.

STEP 4: Try Cost-Per-Click (CPC) advertising such as Google Ad Sense on your blog. Having Cost-Per-Click advertising on your blog is a way to earn additional income that can be very substantial. Until you have gained trust most people who visit your blog will not buy from you. If people are going to leave your blog, wouldn’t you prefer them to leave through a link on your blog that will pay you money every time someone clicks on it? Google makes putting their Ad Sense on your blog E-A-S-Y! The ads are relevant to the content of your website. This may not work to start with but when you start gaining a lot of traffic you will be surprised with the results.

STEP 5: Write & submit articles to article submission sites e.g. Ezine Articles. This is very important & a great way to advertise for free. People are always looking for free information on the internet. When you submit your articles online, the search engines will rank it on the quality of the content & the keywords. When people search using the keywords or phrases in your articles, they will show up in the search results. Make sure you insert keywords & phrases into your articles to try & get your article ranked higher in the search engines. You should include your bio at the bottom of all your articles. Your bio will contain a brief description about you along with a link to your blog or website. It might read for example John Smith is the owner of www.yoursite.com. John helps people set up an online internet business & promotes opportunities which include affiliate programs. If you need your own home based business visit www.yoursite.com. If you want to increase the chances of your articles showing up in the search results then write & submit more articles with keywords & phrases. Also the more links you have pointing back to your blog or website, the higher your blogs page rank will be with the search engines. Ranking basically means your blog & articles will be higher up on the search results so don’t stop writing & submitting articles! Remember I said they rank them on the quality of the content so this is more important than the quantity. If you don’t write correctly no one will take you seriously so check your spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, etc. It might sound like a daunting task & can take up a lot of your time. Just write how you speak. To help me speed up the process of creating & submitting articles I use Mass Article Control so check it out as it will help a great deal.

So there you have it! Having a successful internet business is simply a matter of understanding how things work & applying the knowledge you have. You don’t have to be super intelligent or have great I.T skills. If you follow these five steps & put them into action you cannot fail. The most important thing, as with anything in life, is persistence. Continue following steps three and five and watch your internet business grow. You most also take action & try not to get distracted. This video is great example!!

The Marketing With Alex Jeffreys Course

Forward To Basics

This for me is hopefully where I go from zero to hero, fingers crossed. I have just recently joined the Alex Jeffreys Marketing With Alex course & have started by going forward to basics. Very quickly I learned more in a few weeks than I have in the last year.

It soon became very clear what I have been doing wrong over the last year and given me a much clearer view to seeing my goals in growing my business online. First of all I now believe that without a good mentor and a good plan you are just going to be banging your head against the wall. It is now obvious to me that with the good mentor you will be taught and shown how to set out your plan & believe me once you have made a plan everything becomes a little easier.

For me setting out a plan has freed my mind of so much crap and left me feeling so much better towards the on coming tasks & hurdles that are up in front of me. The reason I am saying this is because for the last four or five months I have been sitting in front of the computer like a headless chicken not really achieving anything. Ok I have made a few hundred dollars here and there but I have spent a hell of a lot more than that.

Now I am really starting to feel great about myself and have started to move forward instead of going backwards all of the time. I have just set up Google Analytics to my blog and website so I can see where all the traffic is coming from. I have started to build my list slowly but surely by giving away a Free Master Resell Rights Ebook that Alex has gave me so the only way is up as far as I am concerned.
